詳細温泉とともに育む地域の未来
～蔵王福祉の森構想とアルベルゴ・ディフーゾの新たな可能性～
私たちガイアグループはこれまで、
「蔵王福祉の森構想の理念に支えられたアルベルゴ・ディフーゾ」
を推進してまいりました。
空き家や空き別荘を活用し、地域そのものを滞在の舞台として再生する。
それが私たちの取り組みの原点です。
一方で、改めて世界のアルベルゴ・ディフーゾの事例を見渡してみると、蔵王には他地域にはない大きな特徴があることに気付きます。
それが
「温泉」
という地域資源です。
蔵王は古くから湯治文化が根付く地域であり、人々の健康や交流を支えてきた歴史があります。
私たちが推進する蔵王福祉の森構想においても、温泉は単なる観光資源ではありません。
健康づくり、
高齢者福祉、
地域医療、
移住促進、
二地域居住、
関係人口創出、
地域コミュニティ形成、
そして観光振興。
これらをつなぐ重要な地域インフラとして位置付けています。
現在ガイアグループでは、
蔵王福祉の森構想の実現に向けて、
医療法人社団リラの会、
社会福祉法人芽吹、
蔵王福祉の森事業協同組合、
蔵王移住相談室、
ガイアリゾート、
さかい珈琲蔵王山水苑前店などと連携しながら、
観光だけではない地域づくりを進めています。
さらに今後は、
公衆浴場「はせくらの湯」構想をはじめ、
地域医療との連携、
高齢者福祉との連携、
移住・二地域居住支援、
そしてアルベルゴ・ディフーゾとの融合など、
温泉を核とした新しい地域モデルの構築も視野に入れています。
世界のアルベルゴ・ディフーゾが
「地域に泊まる仕組み」
だとすれば、
私たちが目指しているのは、
「地域で暮らし、癒やされ、つながる仕組み」
です。
蔵王福祉の森構想は、
福祉、
医療、
農業、
観光、
教育、
防災、
移住促進、
関係人口創出、
そして温泉を結び付けながら、
持続可能な地域社会の実現を目指しています。
人口減少と少子高齢化が進む日本において、
地域に残された資源を活かしながら地域全体を再生していくことが求められています。
温泉もまた、その重要な資源のひとつです。
私たちはこれからも、
蔵王福祉の森構想、
アルベルゴ・ディフーゾ、
オスピタリタ・ディフーザ、
そして温泉文化を融合させながら、
日本ならではの持続可能な地域づくりを進めてまいります。
蔵王から始まったこの挑戦が、
やがて日本各地、
そして世界へと広がることを願いながら、
私たちは一歩ずつ歩みを進めてまいります。

Building the Future of Communities Through Hot Springs
GAIA Group has been promoting an Albergo Diffuso model supported by the philosophy of the ZAO Welfare Forest Initiative.
By utilizing vacant houses and unused villas, we have been transforming entire communities into places of hospitality and meaningful stays.
As we continue this journey, we have recognized a unique strength that distinguishes Zao from many other Albergo Diffuso destinations around the world:
Hot Springs.
While many international examples focus on heritage preservation and tourism, Zao possesses a long tradition of thermal culture that supports health, well-being, and community life.
For us, hot springs are not merely tourist attractions.
They are part of a broader social infrastructure connecting healthcare, welfare, migration support, multi-local living, tourism, and community development.
Together with our partners in healthcare, welfare, tourism, and community development, we are creating a new model that integrates hospitality and social sustainability.
Future projects include public bath facilities, healthcare collaboration, migration support programs, and new forms of community-based tourism centered around thermal culture.
If Albergo Diffuso represents “staying in a community,”
our vision is to create a system where people can
“live, heal, connect, and belong within a community.”
