Building Sustainable Communities Through the Zao Welfare Forest Cooperative
2026年6月13日付の河北新報「経在人」において、蔵王福祉の森事業協同組合理事長である関口剛文氏の取り組みが紹介されました。
記事では、地域おこし協力隊として蔵王町へ移住した関口氏が中心となり設立した「蔵王福祉の森事業協同組合」の活動が取り上げられています。

地域に仕事をつくり、移住者を支える
農業は春から秋にかけて忙しくなります。
一方で冬はスキー場や観光施設で多くの人材が必要となります。
また、福祉や介護、不動産管理、飲食業なども地域に欠かせない仕事です。
しかし地方では、こうした仕事が季節ごとに偏り、安定した雇用を確保することが難しいという課題があります。
蔵王福祉の森事業協同組合は、この課題を解決するために設立されました。
複数の事業者が連携し、一人の人材が年間を通じて様々な仕事に携わる「マルチワーク」の仕組みを構築することで、安定した雇用と移住者の定着を支援しています。
The cooperative was created to address a common challenge in rural regions: seasonal employment fluctuations.
By connecting agriculture, tourism, welfare, property management, hospitality, and other local industries, the cooperative provides year-round employment opportunities through a multi-work model.
This system not only supports workers but also helps new residents settle and build their lives within the community.

Terminal aiから始まる新たな地域づくり
蔵王福祉の森事業協同組合の活動拠点は、現在ガイアグループが整備を進めている遠刈田温泉街の「GAIA Resort Terminal ai」の1階に設置されています。
この場所は、かつて酒屋や米屋として地域を支えてきた建物を再生したものであり、今後は移住者、地域住民、観光客、事業者をつなぐ新たな地域交流拠点として生まれ変わります。
Terminal aiには、
・蔵王福祉の森事業協同組合
・地域交流機能
・クラフトビール事業
・観光・移住相談機能
などが集積する予定です。
The cooperative is headquartered on the first floor of GAIA Resort Terminal ai, a new community hub currently being developed in Togatta Onsen.
The building, once a local liquor and rice store, is being revitalized as a place where residents, newcomers, visitors, and businesses can connect.
Terminal ai will serve as a gateway linking employment, migration, tourism, and community activities.
蔵王福祉の森構想の実践
ガイアグループが推進する「蔵王福祉の森構想」は、

を理念としています。
