Honda・Acuraの快挙に寄せて

このたび、Hondaのプレミアムブランド「Acura」が、アメリカ・コロラド州で開催された世界的ヒルクライムレース「Pikes Peak International Hill Climb」において、前輪駆動（FF）車のコースレコードを更新するという素晴らしい快挙を成し遂げました。

ガイアグループ一同、心よりお祝い申し上げます。

私たちにとって、このニュースは単なるモータースポーツの話題ではありません。

先日グランドオープンした「GAIA RESORT｜ACURA（アキュラ）」は、本田技研工業株式会社 元常務取締役であり、CVCCエンジンの開発をはじめHondaの技術革新を支えた故・石津谷彰氏と、ガイアグループ代表 相澤国弘との個人的なご縁から誕生した特別な宿泊施設です。

施設名の「ACURA」は、石津谷氏が晩年に創作活動を続けられた「ステンドグラス工房アキュラ」の名称をそのまま受け継いでいます。

館内には、石津谷氏が実際に使用されていた工房を可能な限り当時の姿で保存し、その人生やものづくりへの情熱、そして挑戦する精神を感じていただける空間として公開しています。

石津谷氏は、世界に誇る日本の技術者として挑戦を続け、退職後もステンドグラス作家として新たな創作に取り組まれました。

その生涯は、「挑戦することに終わりはない」ということを私たちに教えてくれています。

だからこそ、石津谷氏が深く愛し、人生を捧げたHondaが、現在もなお世界の舞台で新たな歴史を刻み続けていることを、ガイアグループとしても大変嬉しく、そして誇りに感じています。

GAIA RESORT｜ACURAは、単なる宿泊施設ではありません。

そこには、一人の技術者が歩んだ人生、芸術家としての感性、そして未来へ受け継ぐべき「挑戦の精神」が息づいています。

The GAIA Group would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Honda and Acura for setting a new front-wheel-drive record at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado, USA.

For us, this achievement carries a special meaning.

Our newly opened GAIA RESORT | ACURA was created through the personal friendship between the late Akira Ishizuya, former Senior Managing Director of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. and one of the key engineers behind the revolutionary CVCC engine, and Kunihiro Aizawa, President of the GAIA Group.

The facility preserves Mr. Ishizuya’s former Stained Glass Studio ACURA, allowing guests to experience the place where he spent his later years creating works of art after an outstanding engineering career.

Mr. Ishizuya devoted his life to innovation, craftsmanship and creativity.

Seeing Honda continue to make automotive history on the world stage is something that makes all of us at the GAIA Group genuinely happy and deeply proud.
