What is the ZAO Welfare Forest Vision?

蔵王福祉の森構想は、

「母なる農村を守りながら、誰もが安心して暮らせる地域をつくること」

そして

「役割を果たすことを生きる力の源と考え、一人ひとりが地域の中で役割を持ちながら共に暮らす社会を実現すること」

を理念とする地域づくり構想です。

その実現のために、

・医療・福祉

・農業

・教育

・子育て

・移住・二地域居住

・住宅・空き家活用

・地域産業・雇用

を一つのビジョンで結び、人口減少社会における持続可能な地域づくりを目指しています。

The ZAO Welfare Forest Vision is founded on two principles:

• Protect rural communities while creating places where everyone can live with peace of mind.

• Build communities where every individual has a meaningful role and can live together while contributing to society.

To realize this vision, GAIA Group integrates tourism, accommodation, healthcare, welfare, agriculture, education, childcare, migration support, housing, employment, and regional industries into one sustainable community model.

アルベルゴ・ディフーゾとは

What is Albergo Diffuso?

アルベルゴ・ディフーゾ（Albergo Diffuso）は、イタリアで誕生した分散型ホテルの仕組みです。

歴史的建築物や空き家などを活用し、徒歩で回遊できる範囲（概ね200m程度）に分散した客室と、フロントやサービス機能を一体的に運営することで、「地域全体を一つのホテル」として機能させる宿泊モデルです。

建物を新たに建設するのではなく、地域に残る歴史や景観、文化を守りながら地域経済を活性化することを目的としています。

Albergo Diffuso is a distributed hospitality model that originated in Italy.

Guest rooms are located within walking distance—generally within about 200 meters—of a central reception and shared services, allowing the entire village to function as one hotel while preserving historic buildings, local culture, and community life.

What is Ospitalità Diffusa?

オスピタリタ・ディフーザ（Ospitalità Diffusa）は、アルベルゴ・ディフーゾの理念をさらに発展させた地域全体のホスピタリティモデルです。

宿泊施設だけではなく、

・飲食店

・農業

・温泉

・文化・自然体験

・医療・福祉

・地域イベント

・公共施設

・地域住民

など、おおむね1km程度の生活圏を一体的につなぎ、「地域そのものを旅の目的地」とする考え方です。

宿泊だけではなく、暮らし・交流・体験・文化・福祉まで含めた地域全体の価値を提供することが特徴です。

Ospitalità Diffusa expands the Albergo Diffuso concept beyond accommodation.

Restaurants, farms, hot springs, cultural experiences, healthcare, welfare, public facilities, and local residents become part of one integrated hospitality network, transforming the entire community into the travel destination.

GAIA Group’s Original Community Development Model

ガイアグループは、イタリアのアルベルゴ・ディフーゾをそのまま導入したわけではありません。

まず「蔵王福祉の森構想」という地域づくりの理念があり、その理念を実現する手段として、アルベルゴ・ディフーゾとオスピタリタ・ディフーザの考え方を取り入れ、日本独自の地域モデルへと発展させてきました。

その結果、2025年には世界で初めて「オスピタリタ・ディフーザ」の正式認証を取得しました。

このモデルでは、宿泊施設は地域づくりの目的ではなく、地域を持続可能にするための手段の一つです。

旅を通じて地域と出会い、

地域で役割を見つけ、

地域の仲間となり、

やがて「第二のふるさと」と感じてもらう。

それが、ガイアグループが目指す新しい地域づくりです。

GAIA Group did not simply import the Italian model.

The foundation is the ZAO Welfare Forest Vision. Albergo Diffuso and Ospitalità Diffusa are practical strategies for realizing that vision in Japan.

In 2025, this original approach became the world’s first officially certified Ospitalità Diffusa model.

For us, accommodation is not the goal—it is one of the tools for building sustainable communities where visitors gradually become participants, supporters, and eventually members of the community.
