この夏、仙台の夜を幻想的な光が包み込みます。

2026年7月24日（金）から8月23日（日）まで、シーサイドGAIA Resort Hotelの提携施設であるアクアイグニス仙台にて、「台湾ランタン祭 SENDAI 2026 ～星に願いを、光に想いを～」が開催されます。

東日本大震災の際、台湾から寄せられた世界最大級の支援への「ありがとう」を原点に始まったこのイベントは、今年で3回目を迎えます。

約600個ものランタンが夜空を彩り、台湾と仙台を結ぶ友情と感謝の物語が、美しい光となって来場者を迎えます。

This summer, the nights of Sendai will glow with thousands of warm lights.

From July 24 to August 23, 2026, Taiwan Lantern Festival SENDAI 2026 – Wishes Upon the Stars, Thoughts in the Light – will be held at Aqua Ignis Sendai, an official partner facility of Seaside GAIA Resort Hotel.

The festival began as a heartfelt expression of gratitude for the tremendous support Taiwan provided after the Great East Japan Earthquake. Now in its third year, it has become a symbol of friendship connecting Sendai and Tainan through light, culture, and hope.

約600個のランタンが彩る幻想的な世界

A Dreamlike World Illuminated by 600 Lanterns

会場には、

台湾・台南市から届いた約400個のランタン
市民が絵付けした約200個のランタン

合計約600個のランタンが展示されます。

赤、黄色、桃色の灯りが夏の夜空を彩り、まるで台湾のランタンフェスティバルに迷い込んだかのような幻想的な景色が広がります。

7月24日19:00には一斉点灯式も開催され、このイベント最大の見どころとなっています。

Around 600 beautiful lanterns will illuminate the festival grounds.

Approximately 400 authentic lanterns arrive from Tainan, Taiwan, while another 200 lanterns are hand-painted by local residents.

The simultaneous lighting ceremony on July 24 at 7:00 PM creates one of the most spectacular summer scenes in Miyagi.

「ありがとう」から始まったお祭り

A Festival Born from Gratitude

このイベントは、東日本大震災で台湾から寄せられた温かい支援への感謝から始まりました。

2024年には台南市との正式な文化交流へと発展し、現在では両都市を結ぶ象徴的なイベントとなっています。

ランタン一つひとつには、人と人、地域と地域をつなぐ想いが込められています。

The festival began with a simple message:

“Thank you, Taiwan.”

Following the Great East Japan Earthquake, Taiwan extended extraordinary support to Japan.

Today, the Taiwan Lantern Festival SENDAI symbolizes friendship, gratitude, and cultural exchange between Sendai and Tainan.
